After picking you up at your hotel or riad in Fez, we’ll head towards the Moroccan capital, which is just two hours away by car.
As soon as we arrive in the city, we will visit the historic center of Rabat. Its extensive monumental heritage and its good state of conservation allowed this old town to be recognized as a World Heritage Site in 2012. First, we will visit the esplanade, which houses the Hassan Tower and the Mohamed V Mausoleum.
As soon as we see the minaret, we will discover that it is unfinished: do you know what the reason is? As for the funerary monument, we will know some details about the artistic motifs that embellish its meticulous decoration.
Very close to the mausoleum and the tower is the udaya casbah, a citadel (Arab citadel) with many secrets to discover…
In the afternoon, after enjoying an hour of free time for lunch, we will continue our tour of the Moroccan capital next to the Royal Palace. Its iconic monumental gate is one of the most famous in the country! We will conclude the tour with a visit to the necropolis of Chella. We’re finally going back to Fez.
